Study Tips & Tricks

I had a very interesting discussion in my 2nd block class on Friday.  I realized that my 7th graders really do want to do well, but they are going about it all wrong.  Many of them have never been taught HOW to study and this is such an important skill to have!  So, I promised them over the weekend that I would type up the study tricks that I told them about on Friday and would give them a copy tomorrow as well as email the list to their parents.  I thought I would share the list with you all as well.  Feel free to use it as is or modify it as needed.

This is just a short list to get them started and not overwhelm them.  I will add more as the year progresses.  What great study tricks and tips do you use with your students?  Share your ideas in the comments below!

  1. Thank you for sharing, one of the things I do is to always have a highlighter on hand to help retain key info. I also write the main idea on the margins in one or two words.

Sometimes, I try my best to make studying fun and may even use something such as props. to study.

  3. Please let me know if you’re looking for a article writer for your site. You have some really great posts and I feel I would be a good asset. If you ever want to take some of the load off, I’d absolutely love to write some material for your blog in exchange for a link back to mine. Please send me an email if interested. Thank you!
